Definition

Waste Materials resulting from the production, transformation, and/or consumption of other materials, for which the producer has no further use, and that will be or have been discarded.

廢棄物 - 生產，轉化或消耗物質過程中產生的對生產者無用的，將被廢棄的物料。

Hazardous Waste  Waste that is dangerous or potentially harmful to human or animal health or the environment. Hazardous wastes can be liquids, solids, gases, or sludge. They can be discarded commercial products, like cleaning fluids or pesticides, or the by-products of manufacturing processes.

危險廢棄物 – 對人體動物健康或環境有危害或潛在傷害的廢棄物。危險廢棄物可能是液態，固態，氣態或淤泥沉淀物，可以是廢棄商品，如清洗液或殺蟲劑，或生產過程中的副產品。

Non-hazardous waste  Waste that does not pose a direct threat to human or animal health or the environment, such as food and yard or garden waste, packaging materials, and sanitary wastes as specified in applicable regulations.
